US Sailing IS THE NATIONAL GOVERNING BODY OF SAILING

Regional Sailing Association is designed to foster communication between the organization, US Sailing, and the grass roots organizations.  To facilitate communications with local sailors and local sailing organizations (LSOs) within their designated areas and regions. 

• There are 11 Areas designated within the US Sailing and each Area is represented by an Area Coordinator. Each Area is comprised of one or more Regional Sailing Associations.
  • AREA D is our designated Region - 3 regional groups
    •  Florida Sailing Association (www.floridasailingassociation.org)
    • Gulf Yacht Association (www.gya.org)
    • South Atlantic Yacht Racing Association (www.sayra-sailing.com)
  • SAYRA is our RSA covering NC, SC and GA
• Each Regional Sailing Association has a designated representative. The Area Coordinator and Regional Sailing Assoc. representatives put forth their nomination for representatives and both forward to US Sailing Board of Director for approval every fall.
