Hobie Island Waccamaw Weekend May 31 thru June 2 

Not Just for Hobies

The Hobie Adventure Island and Tandem Island Facebook group has 5400 members, yet, we were unable to find any sailing or racing events or sailing class for these boats anywhere in the Eastern US, so we decided to start one.

We are hoping to bring as many Hobie Islands as possible to the club, but this event is open to all sailors and we encourage everyone to come out. Although we will be racing, we are planning a fun, lighthearted event. Here’s the plan:

• Welcome party 6:00-8:00pm Friday May 31 with finger food and music.

• Racing on Saturday- For these races we will feature a 3 point course with beating, reaching and running legs.

• Delicious catered dinner

• Live music Saturday night 8:00-10:00 pm

• More racing on Sunday…Don’t forget your water blaster!.

• We are offering both racing and non-racing registrations. Both include Friday welcome party with food & music, snacks and water throughout the day and one  catered dinner on Saturday and snacks and lunch on Sunday. Racing registration also include racing and prizes.

• We will have T shirts available for sale- To make sure we have your size, please purchase in advance on the registration site for pick-up at the event registration desk, otherwise…maybe we’ll guess right and have your size.
