Adaptive Sailing allows the sport to be accessible to people with physical, cognitive, and intellectual disabilities.  Many programs exist nationwide and several are emerging in the SAYRA region.  Clubs and programs can make sailing more accessible for people by modifications to their boats, implementing specialized equipment, and adaptions to their facilities.

There are resources provided by US Sailing and clubs can schedule an Adaptive Sailing Instructor workshop to train their coaching staff.  Information can be found at http://www.ussailing.org/education/adaptive-sailing/

If you have questions regarding Adaptive Sailing in the SAYRA area please contact Jacob Raymond at jdraymon@cofc.edu or feel free to call 864.313.4921.
