Commodore Pete Notes - July SAYRA e-Newsletter

Greetings from the Helm,

We are in the heat of the summer and the SAYRA Regatta calendar is extremely busy. I want to point out the SAYRA Women's Championships August 20th in Charleston sailed in J-22's - make sure your club is represented! PHRF Offshore Championships are back in August with the Indigo Cup - Charleston to Savannah hosted by CORA.

Congratulations and great sailing to James Pine of Charleston in the 2022 Optimist World Championships - 26 sailors from 61 countries sought the fleet racing world title. The 12-race series came down to the final race when Thailand's Weka Bhanubandh got past the earlier leaders, finishing with a one-point victory over James Pine (trains with SCYC).

Get involved - calendar - you have plenty of opportunities.

If I can do anything for you, or your club please reach out to me.

SAVE the DATE for the 2023 Annual Meeting at the HHI Sonesta Resort, January 27-29.

Best, Commodore Pete - marriottpete@gmail.com
