SAYRA e-newsletter April 2021

Big issue with lots of content - please share with your club leadership, fleet captains and junior program coordinators!

Celebrating 25 great years of CRW

Thanks to all the sailors, volunteers and support teams that participated on shore or on the water to make Charleston Race Week (25th anniversary) such a special event. Despite all the challenges this past year, Team CRW made it happen - thank you! With 180 boats, new protocols off the water, but the racing was pure Charleston fun (and challenges).

Special thanks to the fearless leader Randy Draftz for making this event a reality and bring large event sailing back to SAYRA (and USA) in 2021 safely. Big events can happen if planning and teamwork are first in everyone's mind.

Thank you Randy for making CRW a reality!

Cheers to 25 and the next 25!

Have you ever checked out My US Sailing at ussailing.org?  The full US Sailing site can be rather overwhelming, but My US Sailing contains links to a lot of information in a less confusing format—and information that is specific to you.  Once you log in as a member, there are quite a few useful links and actions available; here are just a few:
  • Update your personal information (click “My Account”, or )
  • Calendar – access to the US Sailing Calendar, where you can search for regattas, classes, meetings and more
  • My Races & Results – Access your race results for events that use Regatta Network, including US Sailing Championships in which you have sailed
  • Sailflow Weather – quick access to wind forecasts wherever you are getting ready to sail
  • Find a Place to Sail – heading out on a trip, and want to sail while you’re there? Use this tool to locate and get contact information for a club, community sailing program, sailing school, or camp, as well as one design organizations, PHRF organizations, and others
  • My Certs & Courses – concise listing of certifications and completed US Sailing courses
  • My Discounts – over 2 dozen businesses that offer discounts to US Sailing members – including $15 off a purchase of $100 or more at West Marine, 15% off IHG hotels, qualified access to Health Insurance, 10% off other lines offered by Gowrie, just to name a few
