Happy Fall! You should be making plans to attend the US Sailing NATIONAL SAILING PROGRAMS SYMPOSIUM, NSPS will be returning in person in 2022. This year it is in the SAYRA Region at the DeSoto Savannah January 27-29 with the SAYRA annual meeting at the tail end on January 30th. Look for detailed Annual Meeting information late October.
The premier event for sailing education in the United States. NSPS is the only conference of its kind that brings together program directors, instructors, volunteers, Club leadership and industry representatives to share and learn best practices with one another about running, maintaining and improving sailing programs and member experiences.
SAYRA is seeking nominations for the following awards no later than Dec. 1st:
- H Willard Davis Service Award
- The SAYRA Sportsmanship Award,
- The John Bonds Service Award
- Brotherhood of International Mark Boat Operators (BIMBO Award)

Congratulations to Conner Blouin, College of Charleston Assistant Sailing Coach for his win at the Champions of Champions. Thomas Mazzeo, of South Carolina Yacht Club for representing SAYRA in the Chubb Junior Championships Singlehanded (SMYTHE TROPHY). Eddie Evans and team for representing SAYRA and Matt Seif and team for representing Charleston Yacht Club in the US Offshore Championship Championship. Also very big congratulations to Daniel Escudero (AtlYC) 1st place ILCA7 and Ben Smith (CYCNC) 3rd place ILCA6 for their podium finishes at the Youth Sailing Championships in NC.
